The department has full fledged labs for UG and PG courses with sophisticated instruments such as Horizontal Laminar Flow, photo microscope, centrifuges and Incubators, BOD incubator, Freezing Microtome. The department also has a good collection of herbarium specimens representing the native flora. The department is a recognized research center of Kerala and M.G.Universities.
The department recived 5 minor projects and DST assistence for Infrstutural facilities(FIST 2010)
A well equiped tissue cultural lab, The department is going to setup a animal Tissue/cell line culture lab in connection with the project saction to Dr. Anil Kumar from STEK Trivandrum.
department is maintaining a botanical garden and arboratum with high plant diversity.
