The research centre of the department named after Vidwan P.G.Nair Smaraka Gaveshana Kendram has made a profound impact in the sphere of higher research and knowledge making in the state of Kerala. While we have regular Ph.D work affiliated to the Mahatma Gandhi University, we also have initiated a simultaneous place for open research, as facilitated through the Vidwan P. G. Nair Fellowships. We ardently follow interdisciplinary research methods and practices. Four national seminars have so far been organized by the department under the auspices of the Vidwan P.G.Nair Smaraka Gaveshana Kendram and the quality of papers presented exhibit the real academic spirit of the department. The proceedings of these seminars have been brought out by the department in book form (Edited by Dr. Aju K.N, Dr.Sibu M.Eapen and Dr. Muse Mary George respectively); all these faculty are recognized research guides under Mahatma Gandhi University. As of now, we have produced 5 number of Ph. Ds. Currently, 5 number of research students are doing research in this centre.
