Eye Donation seminar

A seminar on Keratoplasty was led by Dr. Aparna C. Varghese of Little Flower Hospital and Research Centre, Angamali   on 6th December  2010. A video exhibit on cornea transplantation was also conducted. The Principal Dr.T.Thomas Philip handed over the Consent letter of  the staff and students of U.C.College, showing their willingness to donate eye after death , to Rev. Dr. Sebastian Vadakkepadan, the Director of Little Flower Hospital and Research centre . An Oath taking on Eye Donation was also taken by the staff and students of U.C. College.

Outcome of the seminar
•    Spread awareness on eye donation and its benefits to the society
•    Helped students to erase various wrong notions on eye donation
•    Convinced a large number of students to voluntarily sign a pledge to donate their eyes

Activity-8
Youth Leadership Programme
A youth leadership programme was conducted on 8/1/2011 Saturday at the T. B.Ninan hall of our college. The programme was under the leadership of the trainers from the World Malayalee Council-“ALTIUS”.
About 45 students participated and was  benefitted.

Activity-9
Voice of Zootech
A preliminary screening for the voice of UC was conducted on 4/2/2011 in the Zoology lab. Four students were selected and were sent for the second level competition to be held on 10/2/2011 at VMH.
