Advanced Diploma in Archaeology and Museology (ADAM) is a three-year diploma course run as a dual degree cum diploma program by the department of History along with BA History Model 1 (approved by M.G University vide order Ac/AV/1/306/2002 dated 2.7.2003). The purpose of this course is to teach students the basics of Archaeology and Museology, two allied disciplines of History through five extra hours of teaching every week, mostly conducted on Saturdays. Formerly a UGC sponsored course offered only in U.C College, it has been successfully continued by the department producing well-formed social scientists and broadening the horizons of our undergraduate program. It enables our graduates to understand and distinguish between various tools and methodologies used and to handle different kinds of sources. It also facilitates different approaches to factual evaluation, narration, interpretation and analysis.The course certificate is provided by the university and increases the higher education and career prospects of students.
The papers taught are Introduction to Archaeology, Indian Prehistory, Archaeological Investigations, Protohistory and Early History in India,Museology & Museums, Conservation of Museum Collections, Ancient Indian Writing, Exchange, Art and Architecture, Internship Report and Project with a total of 24 credits.
Fee Structure
The course fee at the time of admission is Rs.3500 (2500 tuition fee + Rs.1000 caution deposit). There will be an annual tuition fee of Rs. 2500/- for the next two years.
