Centenary Lecture Series – Lecture 3

The Third Lecture of the Centenary Lecture Series was conducted on 22nd September 2022, at the VMA Hall, at Union Christian College, Aluva, on the topic “75 years of Independence”. Renowned teacher, writer, and orator Shri N.M. Pearson was the resource person. He provided insight into what our understanding of freedom should be- that we should be clear about what we got freedom from, what we got freedom to do, what freedom gave us the right to be and how much we should be socially responsible for the freedom that was granted to us. He also talked about the repercussions colonialism had in our lives, and how we should take the good and leave the bad.

More than 100 students attended the lecture along with our alumni, teaching, and nonteaching staff. Principal Dr. M.I Punnoose introduced the guest to the audience. Manager Rev Thomas John, presented a memento to the resource person. Dr. Seena Mathai delivered the vote of thanks.
