New Book Released – Sebastian Joseph

Cochin Forests and the British Techno-ecological Imperialism in India by Sebastian Joseph (Primus Books, 2016) is a thoughtful reading in ecology and environmental history of the princely state of Cochin during the British rule. Contexualising the Cochin forest as yet another base of imperial power the author has shown how and why the forest resources were accumulated by taking the reader on a guarded journey through the ‘zigzag’ lines of the forest.
