Second Batch of Walk with a Scholar Programme Inaugurated
The Walk with a Scholar Programme for the year 2015-16 was inaugurated by Dr. P.Thomas Mathew, Principal in a programme held in the TB Ninan Hall on October14, 2015. The programme was attended by thirty mentees selected from different departments along with the internal mentors. The thirty students were assigned internal mentors for the entire three year programme of their course in the college, during which the scholars will be given training in developing best academic practices. As a whole the scheme is intended to promote research interest in them and help them advance in their career pathways. The scheme introduces the idea of mentoring and builds on the concept of mentor as a ‘Guide’ and ‘Friend’. Delivering the inaugural address, Dr. Thomas Mathew called upon the students selected to tap the internal resource base of the institution in a positive manner. Dr. Sebastian Joseph who coordinates the programme in the college welcomed the gathering and introduced the programme to the students. Mr. Alwin Alexander, Dr. Ann George, Dr. Reshmi R, Ms. Shema Elizabeth and Ms. Smitha Roy, internal mentors spoke and had separate sessions with the scholars assigned to them. Miss. Thara of first year BA(History) extended vote of thanks.
