About the Club
Union Christian College, Aluva is a renowned institution in providing quality education for the holistic development of the students. We have a rich legacy of 100 yrs in upholding the motto “the truth shall make you free”. In its endeavor to achieve its mission ‘to bring out the best in the individual that they would serve our nation and humanity at large’ the institution had extended its service to the society in all adverse situations. As community with social commitment, the institution has played a crucial role in coordinating the unprecedented natural calamities in 2018 & 2019.
The initiative and enthusiasm to coordinate various rescue operations and post rescue management was fruitful and much appreciated. This ignited the idea of formulating a Disaster Management Club in the College, so that we can extend our hands in the hour of need. The Disaster Management Club of the college is functioning in association with the Ernakulum Disaster Management Authority in providing training to the students.

The club was formally inaugurated on 27th March 2023 by the Ernakulum District Collector Shri. N.S.K Umesh.IAS. One day workshop for students was arranged in association with the Ernakulam District Disaster Management Authority in following areas :
- Fire and Rescue Services,Aluva
- First Aid and Emergency Care Basic Life Support Skills,District Hospital,Aluva
- Survival Swimming Skill Awareness – Saji Vallasseril Swimming Academy
- 236 students attended this one day workshop.
