Science & Research Laboratories
Empowering Practical Learning, Experimentation, and Innovation
At Union Christian College, our Science & Research Laboratories serve as the foundation for experiential learning and scientific exploration. Equipped with modern tools and resources, these labs are designed to foster curiosity, develop critical thinking, and bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world application.
Department-wise Laboratories
Department of Physics
The Physics lab offers hands-on exposure to fundamental and advanced experiments in mechanics, optics, electricity, magnetism, and electronics. With state-of-the-art instruments and demonstration kits, students are encouraged to observe, question, and innovate. It is also a hub for minor research projects and interdepartmental collaborations.
Department of Chemistry
Our Chemistry laboratories are well-ventilated, safe, and fully equipped for qualitative, quantitative, and organic analysis. Students gain practical training in chemical reactions, titrations, synthesis, and spectroscopy. The lab also promotes green chemistry practices and fosters research-oriented thinking among students.
Department of Zoology
The Zoology lab facilitates detailed studies in animal physiology, anatomy, genetics, ecology, and taxonomy. It houses preserved specimens, microscopes, and modern equipment for dissection and slide preparation. Fieldwork and biodiversity documentation are also integral parts of the learning process.
Department of Botany
Dedicated to plant sciences, the Botany lab supports the study of morphology, cytology, plant physiology, and taxonomy. It contains a rich herbarium, compound and dissecting microscopes, and necessary tools for ecological and molecular biology studies. Live and preserved plant specimens enhance the learning experience.
Department of Psychology
The Psychology lab provides students with tools and apparatus for cognitive, behavioral, and psychological testing. It is designed to conduct experiments in learning, memory, reaction time, perception, and personality assessments. The lab also supports student-led research and survey-based projects in mental health and human behavior.
We envision these laboratories not just as physical spaces, but as platforms where students explore, experiment, and excel. They are instrumental in nurturing the next generation of scientists, educators, and thinkers committed to sustainable and socially responsible innovation.
At UC College, learning extends beyond textbooks. Our diverse range of clubs and societies provide students.
