The Union Christian College’s Nature Club is a crucial component of the on-campus atmosphere for students. The group naturally developed due to how the students perceived nature, the state of the environment, and its fragility at the time. A collective of students who were passionate about the environment took the initiative to start the Nature Club on our campus in 2014. After then, It is a vibrant student organisation meeting to discuss societal environmental action.
An eco-club in a college plays a number of significant roles. It can promote environmental sustainability, organise campaigns and activities that support environmental protection, plant trees on campus and in the surrounding region, and encourage students to adopt sustainable lifestyles. Furthermore, an Eco club can serve as a great platform for students to develop their environmental knowledge and skills, and seek out opportunities to volunteer for environmental causes.
The Nature Club, UCC built on the values that, In this androcentric and corporate world, Environmental protection is essential for preserving the natural resources and ecological balance that support all life on Earth. It is crucial to protect the environment as it provides us with clean air, water, and food, which are essential for our survival and wellbeing. Environmental protection also helps to prevent and mitigate the negative impacts of climate change, conserve biodiversity, and safeguard ecosystems. Ultimately, protecting the environment is critical for current and future generations to enjoy a sustainable future. To achieve this objective, it is vital that individuals, communities, businesses, and governments take concerted action towards protecting and preserving natural environments for the benefit of all.
The club is a versatile group comprising students from all departments in our college. Camping, Orientation, and Action are the modus operandi of our group.
