College Union: Leadership, Expression & Engagement

Union Christian College encourages active student participation in healthy, democratic politics as a means of nurturing responsible and engaged citizens. The College Union operates under the presidential mode of elections and serves as the official representative body of the student community, working to enhance student life and ensure student voices are reflected in institutional decision-making.

Only student organizations recognized by the college management are permitted to operate on campus, ensuring alignment with the institution’s values and educational mission.

Structure of the College Union

Student representatives are elected annually to the following posts:

  • Chairman
  • Vice Chairperson
  • General Secretary
  • University Union Councillors (2)
  • Arts Club Secretary
  • Magazine Editor
  • Lady Representatives (2)
  • First DC Representative
  • Second DC Representative
  • Third DC Representative
  • First PG Representative
  • Second PG Representative

Faculty members play key advisory and oversight roles:

  • A Staff Advisor guides the College Union.
  • Staff coordinators supervise the Arts Club and College Magazine.
  • A faculty member also serves as the Treasurer, managing the financial responsibilities of the Union.

Union Activities

The College Union organizes a variety of events and cultural programs throughout the academic year, including:

  • College Arts Festival
  • Drama Festival
  • Voice of UC – Talent Hunt
  • Step of UC – Dance Show
  • UCian Biennale – Creative Arts Showcase
  • Book Exhibition & Sale

The union also facilitates several literary and social clubs, providing students with platforms for creativity, expression, and social engagement.
