Rotaract Club: installation ceremony of the office bearers

The Rotaract Club of Union Christian College, Aluva, held its installation ceremony of the office bearers on July 25, 2024, at 2:30 PM in the Seminar Room of the Department of History.

The presidential address was delivered by Mr. Anand Kumar, the District President of the Rotary Club, Ernakulam, followed by the investiture ceremony of the Rotaract Club office bearers of the College. Mr. Anand Kumar commenced the ceremony by presenting the president’s collar, gavel, and gong to Ms. Lakshmi Priya as the President of the Club for the year 2024–25. Lakshmi Priya welcomed Ms. Al Shifa P. S., Secretary, Ms. Aysha Riya, Joint Secretary, Ashin Jose, Treasurer, and Mr. Muhsin Muhammed, Club Editor to lead the activities of the Rotaract Club during the session. The board also consists of Mr. Rayyan Sadique, Chair of Public Image, Mr. Muhammed Thameem, Chair of Club Service, Ms. Lakshmi Sreenivas, Chair of International Service, Ms. Smrithi. S, Chair of Community Service, Ms. Anamika M. S., Chair of Professional Development, and Ms. Aneetta Mary Joy, Sargent at Arms.

In the acceptance speech, Ms. Lakshmi Priya spoke about the need for self-improvement among young adults who are future community leaders. The presidential session by Mr. Anand Kumar reflected on the relevance of communication skills in all aspects of life, followed by a career guidance session by Mr. Roy Enas, Chair of Youth Services, focused on exploring new prospects in life through developing transferable skills, adaptability, networking, and constant learning while remaining relevant to the ever-evolving job markets.

The event was felicitated by Principal Prof. Dr. Mini Alice, Rotaract Club Faculty co-ordinators Dr. Shela Mary Varghese, and Ms. Tresa Divya T. J., Secretary of Ernakulam Rotary district Mr. Joseph George, Mr. P. Ramachandran, Mr. Joepaul John, Mr. Philip George, and Mr. Ajith Thacholly.
