Alumni Reunion Meet was held on 11 November 2023. Chief Guest was alumnus and Hon. Chief Justice of High Court of Patna K. Vinod Chandran. Another distinguished alumnus Dr. M G Sarngdharan was the guest of honour. OSA General Secretary Ajithkumar P C welcomed the gathering. Principal presided over the function and also made a short presentation regarding the centenary projects. Manager addressed the gathering and presented mementos to both guests. OSA and college expressed indebtedness to Dr. Sarngdharan for funding the expansion of Arts Block which has been renamed as Vidwan P G Nair Block and M L Pankajakshi Conference Centre.
Various scholarships instituted by alumni were distributed by the Chief Guest. New staff Dr Shela Mary Varghese, Department of History and Sanilkumar PK, office staff were introduced to alumni and staff who retired in the last academic year were felicitated. Executive Secretary Dr. Jenee Peter proposed the vote of thanks. The public meeting ended at 12.00 pm. 225 participants registered for the meet including present and retired staff. It was livestreamed via UCC media.
The Reminiscences session was coordinated by Shema Elizabeth Kovoor. Lunch was arranged in the canteen. The Business Session at VMA Hall was attended by nineteen members. General Secretary welcomed the gathering. Principal presided over the meeting. Exec Secretary read the minutes of the last business session held on 12 November 2022. General Secretary and Principal informed that the first AGM of the UCC Old Students Association which came into effect on 17 May 2023 can be held along with the presentation of audited balance of accounts in September 2024. OSA now has a registered office and a bank account with Federal Bank. Bursar is the treasurer of OSA.
Business meeting was followed by the screening of the documentary UCC@100 and its director Shiny Benjamin was honoured by Principal. Swaralaya Club and alumni jointly organized a cultural programme and the day’s programme ended at 5.00 PM.
