Congratulations to our distinguished Alumnus Dr Sosamma Iype.

One of our distinguished alumnus is awarded Padma Sree by the President of India. Dr. Sosamma Iype is a retired Professor from Kerala Veterinary and Animal Science University, Mannuthy, Trichur. Recently she published a book with the title ‘The Rebirth of the Vechur cow’. The book describes the relentless work by Prof. Sosamma Iype and her team for the past 32 years – a success story in conservation.
Dr. Sosamma Iype was a student at UCC during 1956 – ’57 for her intermediate. Her younger brother Dr. K. Iype Varghese also is an alumnus of UCC, and is a member of UCCAANA Board of Directors. Dr. Sosamma’s daughter is a physician in USA and she is married to UCCAANA Treasurer, Mr. George Varghese. Dr. Sosamma also is an active member of UCCAANA, and will be going back to USA to join the other family members.
